Gastro Intestinal Endoscopy Technician
Preferred Skills: 2 years of previous experience in endoscopy or related procedural departments preferred, assisting with procedures required, current MD certification, current BLS certification, and proficient computer skills.Purpose: Assists gastroenterologists and providers to conduct invasive diagnostic procedures. Cleans, disinfects, and prepares equipment used for procedures as needed.Consistently supports the precepts of Corporate Compliance and Principles of Responsibility by maintaining confidentiality, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with integrity, reporting observed fraud and abuse, and complying with applicable state, federal and local laws and program policies and procedures, as well as, proper use of Kaiser Permanente Personal Computer (PC)and applications.Accountabilities:1. Assists gastroenterologist and providers to perform diagnostic and minor medical procedures.2. Washes, inspects, decontaminates and maintains equipment following established infection control procedures.3. Prepares equipment and supplies needed for scheduled procedures.4. Assist in patient flow; providing support as necessary.5. Maintain general stock levels within the department.6. Performs other related duties as directed.Minimum Requirement - Relevant Years of Experience:- Two years experience as a GI Technician or Clinical Assistant required.Minimum Requirement - Education and/or Classes:- High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum Requirement - License, Certification and/or Designation:- GI certification preferred.- Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant (Maryland)- CPR certification required.Other Qualifications:- Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.- In order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
