Bolivar Medical Center is a 165-bed acute-care general hospital, accredited by JCAHO. With almost 200,000 square feet, the hospital includes a 14-bed skilled nursing facility and a 35-bed nursing home. The medical campus also includes a Medical Office Building and an Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility with staff offering adult and pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as an aquatic therapy program. Additional services include outpatient orthopedic surgery, endoscopic surgery, mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, MRI, an interventional angiography lab and pain management services. The Delta Diabetes Management Center is also located at Bolivar Medical Center. We are currently recruiting for Physical Therapists to be part of our amazing team!General Responsibilities: The physical therapist works under the direction of a physician or other qualified health care provider to provide musculoskeletal evaluations and rehabilitative treatment to patients who have been referred for physical therapy. The staff physical therapist oversees and is responsible for all patient care related activities, including the supervision of paraprofessionals and non-skilled staff and the coordination of the patients care and treatment with the referring physician and other allied heath care providers. Minimum Qualifications:Graduate from a school of Physical Therapy approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.Prefer a Masters Level Degree in Physical Therapy. Must possess licensure to practice physical therapy in the state of Mississippi and must be maintained in good standing.Previous experience in physical therapy in a hospital or out-patient setting is preferred. Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific unit. Skills:Requires ability to function in stressful situations. Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to physical therapy theory and practice. Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to perform delegated aspects of physical therapy process. Requires the cognitive ability and practical ability to provide physical therapy care appropriate to the patient population assigned, considering patient age, growth and development, and diagnosis.
