ARRT CPR/BLS CRT 2-3 years Job Summary: The Radiation Therapy Specialist 2 practices with minimal supervision. Performs age-specific (infant, toddler, preschooler, school-age, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, later adult) therapeutic radiation procedures as ordered by a physician to assist in the treatment of cancer and other patients. Identifies and seeks resolution of treatment related problems using available resources; assists other members of the treatment team; promotes professional collegial relationships and fosters constructive approaches to treatment operations. Performs any combination of duties depending on area assignment. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Certification of completion of a course in radiation therapy in an AMA approved school. Two years minimum. Therapists must possess: National AART in Radiation Therapy; California State (CRT) in Radiation Therapy, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Accurate placement of custom blocking devices and subsequent alignment with marked patient anatomy, computer data input, manipulate hand pendant/motorized table control panels. Work requires ability to communicate effectively about complex matters with others who have varying levels of comprehension. Analyze and interpret data, judge and act on analysis of data, develop and follow-up on plans, apply mathematics to manipulate/analyze data, analyze and solve specific problems, follow simple, moderate, complex instructions, work independently without direct supervision, recognize and appropriately report safety problems, or other problem situations, remain oriented to location spatially, and observe and record observations. Able to lift more than 50lbs to the shoulder.
