Under general supervision, the Histology Technician will assist the Mohs surgeon in the Dermatology department during the grossing of specimens. The Tech will process, embed, cut and stain tissue specimens so a quality microscopic slide can be produced for diagnosis by the Mohs surgeon. The Tech also maintains laboratory equipment by the proper upkeep, routine monthly preservation of all equipment and daily cleanliness of the lab area. The Tech must observe and maintain all safety rules to ensure a safe working environment.High school graduate with a background in biology and chemistry. Successful completion of an accredited program in histologic technique required. College coursework desirable. HT ASCP registry or eligible. CPR certified. Minimum of one year of experience in a Histology Lab preferred.This position 32 hours Monday - Thursday.
