The laboratory is part of the Center for Systems Biology, one of 5 thematic centers at the MGH and of the Center for Molecular Imaging Research, both headed by Dr. Ralph Weissleder. Research interests of our group focus on 1) imaging of molecular processes during the healing phase after myocardial infarction, 2) imaging of heart transplant rejection, and 3) imaging of inflammation in atherosclerotic plaques. Imaging targets are enzymes, innate immune cells and molecular players with a central role in cardiovascular disease. We use the entire spectrum of modalities, including MRI, nuclear and optical imaging techniques. These technologies are embedded in a biologically driven research program that aims at systematic understanding of inflammation and repair at a basic level while keeping a rigorous translational perspective. The Administrative Coordinator under supervision of the Clinical Coordinator provides administrative support for patient care activities across multiple physician offices of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization on Nantucket. The individual will have primary responsibility for overseeing the scrubbing of MGPO billing forms, batching process and the management of electronic scanning into the LMR. As an integral part of the office staff, will provide cross coverage for other staff to ensure patients and physicians are fully supported. The emphasis is placed on the delivery of quality; customer/patient focused oriented work flow. Ensures the completeness of all forms and performs basic ICD-9 coding, as required to complete visit encounter forms for processing. This process would include daily reconcilement of the encounter forms to the reception list; track and follow-up any outstanding encounter forms and inpatient charges prior to batching according to the MGPO standards of best practice.Responsible for scanning, according to Partners Information System guidelines, all ancillary, consult, and other clinical reports that come into the office via fax, print, or mail, into the LMR/electronic medical record, which are not electronically available.Provides cross-coverage for the full scope of job responsibilities across existing physician offices during other staffs time away. Performs all duties related to the Revenue Enhancement activities of the physician offices, including but not limited to co-pay collection, registration verification, and encounter form reconcilement etc. Daily reconcilement of co-pay collections to the IDX Front Desk module.Understands all HMO, Managed Care and other Third Party Insurers; and function as a resource for patients around managed care plans, insurance and referral issues, with an ability to perform electronic insurance verification. The Clinical Coordinator has a dual reporting to both the Administrative Director and Nursing Director of the MGPO Community Affiliates Practices and the Director of Ancillary Services of Nantucket Cottage Hospital works collaboratively to oversee the delivery of patient care through the day to day operations, the supervision of the administrative support and clinical staff; and sustaining a positive environment for patients and staff. The Clinical Coordinator provides clinical back-up as needed.
