The Medcor Mid-Level Practitioner (PA)will be providing urgent and wellness care in the Medcor clinic located in Medcors client facility. The location is remote and the practitioner may be required to stabilize ill and injured employees while awaiting arrival of EMS. Clinical Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral clinical duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following (other clinical duties may be assigned):-Provide occupational health services while functioning as an advocate for both the patient/employee and employer.-Conduct physical exams and interpret exam results required for regulatory and policy compliance, e.g., DOT, audiometric exams. -Provide urgent care for minor, non-work related illnesses and injuries for the employees, their spouses and their children 18months of age and older.-Preventative care screening programs for employees, e.g., screening for hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol.-Women´s health: pap smears.-Adult immunizations and influenza immunizations for adolescents and adult´s-Initial evaluation and stabilization of patients who present with illnesses or injuries that require a higher level of care or EMS transport. -Compliance with CDC guidelines for vaccine storage, handling, and administration.-Complete and timely documentation of clinical care in the electronic medical record. -Serve as clinic leader for the facility. Required Specific Clinical Skills:-The MLP is required to independently care for patients. The following represent some, but not all, of the specific clinical skills that are required:-Interpretation of ECGs and rhythm strips-Management of cardiopulmonary arrest-Management of major trauma, including vehicular trauma -Management of minor orthopedic injuries, including cumulative trauma, sprains, strains and minor fractures or dislocations-Interpretation of spirometry-Management of biological exposures, e.g., blood-borne pathogen exposure-Management of chemical exposuresRequired Current Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:-Licensure in the State of Colorado -DEA certification-Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)BENEFITS: We offer competitive salary and benefits package for full-time associates including: paid time off, CME reimbursement, health and dental coverage, 401k with company match, regularly scheduled hours and more.
