At present, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center has 206 private rooms with guest accommodations, with the capacity to expand to 400 beds over the next five years. Directs occupational therapy department certified staff, including certified occupational therapy assistants and technicians.2. Observes and evaluates treatment affect.3. Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient, as related to therapy requested and provided reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.4. Develops and implements effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians. Treats patients in accordance with standards of care and practice.5. Formulates a home exercise program based on identified learning needs and evaluated effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching, as appropriate.6. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of therapy modules.7. Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of a plan of care.8. Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team.9. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patient´s needs are met and hospital policy is followed.10. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.11. Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.12. Meets current documentation standards and policies.13. Participates in educational staff performance in services.14. Coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff.15. Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain within budget guidelines.16. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.17. Documents appropriately, on the medical record, all therapy treatments, assessments and evaluations performed for the inpatient and outpatient populations.18. Participates in infection control, departmental equipment training and organizational safety and fire safety programs.19. Contacts with the community are conducted in a manner that supports System philosophy and reflects positively on the System programs.20. Participates in development activities to support the individual unit / department.21. Meets the needs of the internal and external customer with dignity and respect.22. Communicates clearly and tactfully.23. Accepts responsibility for and maintains confidentiality.24. Maintains and promotes a safe environment by adhering to general and departmental safety policies.25. Promptly reports all potential safety risks and completes appropriate safety paperwork when required.26.
