Additionally, the American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) awarded Palmetto Health Breast Center full accreditation. It is the only facility in South Carolinaand one of 70 in the entire countryto receive this status.The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and reassess participants upon referral from Multidisciplinary team. Provides and recommends therapeutic exercises. Responsible for the overall Occupational Therapy program at Palmetto SeniorCare.This is a full-time position in the Medically Fragile Childrens ProgramKey Responsibilities:* Conducts initial assessments and reassessments, upon referral from team, of participants condition and functional status. Communicates participant changes to team members.* Develops treatment program when indicated, sets goals and provides treatment.* Records and signs treatments in participants medical record, records, signs, and dates Progress Notes.* Coordinates 24 hour care delivery. Provides training to family members, friends, and Palmetto SeniorCare staff members for those parts of the treatment plan that can be carried out by them.* Provides supervision to program aides and other staff who are implementing a OT treatment program.* Reviews assessments and discharges participants when appropriate.* Actively functions as a member of the Multidisciplinary team, participates in case conferences when necessary.Requirements:Education: Graduate of an OT curriculum accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and the Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American OT Association.Experience: Have 2 years experience at an OT, minimum 1 year experience working with a frail or elderly population.Number and Type of Employees Supervised (optional): Aides and OTAs as program needs indicate.Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Licensed Occupational Therapist in SC, Valid South Carolina drivers license, an acceptable three-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart and a certificate of auto insurance.Special Training: Demonstrates clinical competency with Geriatric population. Driving is required for this position using the employees personally owned vehicle. Employee will be expected to adhere to the Palmetto Health Driver Safety Policy and specific department driving policies. Participates in administrative, operational and clinical functions of department, hospital and alliance.Key Responsibilities:- Provides occupational therapy services according to departmental and professional standards of care.- Participates in the education of staff, students and volunteers by sharing responsibility for both the numbers of requests and quality of feedback from participants.- Participates with program development and implementation as determined by departmental needs.- Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings/clinics as indicated by department/organization needs.- Participates in PI activities by maintaining acceptable level of personal achievement and assisting with data collection and analysis.- Maintains technical and clinical competency according to department/organization/professional standards.Requirements:Education: Bachelors Degree in occupational therapy.Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Licensed by SC Board of Occupational Therapy.Special Training: Demonstrates clinical competency based on patients age; computer literacy a plus.
