This position is a member of PeaceHealth Medical Group and is responsible for providing support to Physicians by assisting with admissions and treatment coordination on the inpatient setting.
Alternating 3 and 4 shifts of 12 hours between Nocturnists. Will work between 14-15 shifts per month. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Assesses patient condition, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plan; ensures patient care is appropriate to the age of patients.2. Practices medicine within the scope of license, training, credentialing, and in accordance with the current standards of care. 3. Responsible for all adult admissions of PHMG primary care and city call patients (when assigned) that originate in the Emergency Department while on duty, attending to emergent patient situations regardless of primary physician and follows case until primary physician or a consultant may assume responsibility.4. Answers call from the in-patient units.5. Responsible for appropriate documentation and preparation to transition care of patients to the caregivers on the next shift and for assuming responsibility at the start of shift.6. Responsible for assuring patients are designated to the appropriate service at the time of admission (based on Primary Care Provider assignment) so that information will be incorporated into the patients chart labels, etc. to provide clarity regarding future call responsibility and future care.7. Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless of their age.8. Performs other duties as required or assigned.*Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program *Minimum of 2 years emergency department on inpatient clinical experience.
