Brack EEG Responsibilities 1. Performs neurological procedures/tests on patients in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. In conjunction with ordering physicians, determines appropriate testing to be done, making independent judgments and decisions to modify tests as patient conditions dictates to enhance quality of information available to physicians. Makes appropriate decisions as to the use of sedation and the placement of special electrodes. 2. Supervises non-registered techs on neonatal and critical care patients. 3. Completes testing to determine cerebral death and other special procedures. 4. Maintains and inspects equipment on a routine basis. Orders repairs when necessary. 5. Prepares monthly statistics, variace reports and activity reports. 6. Participates with department team to interview, hire, and develop/coordinate orientation and in-service education of staff providing services. 7. Collaborates with department team to coordinate/maintain patient scheduling, staffing, and supplies/equipment and to provide an on-call system for procedures to meet patient/physician needs. 8. Collaborates with the department to prepare and evaluate budgets, future planning and goals for the department; develops, reviews and updates policies and procedures. 9. Collaborates in developing, implementing an evaluating continuous Quality Improvement Program for Neurodiagnostics department. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college preferred. One (1) year standard clinical experience in EEG, including but not limited to placement of electrodes according to the 10/20 international system, recognition of basic normal EEG patterns and troubleshooting basic EEG artifacts is preferred.
