Position Summary Purpose: To consistently perform high quality standard and complex polysomnographic (PSG) procedures with some EEG experience. Knowledge and Skills: Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is a knowledge of current neurodiagnostic technique and pattern recognition, and general neurodiagnostic instrumentation. Also required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is the ability to independently demonstrate skill in the following: PSG, and EEG/ EEG Video Monitoring, demonstrate ability to operate neurodiagnostic analog and digital medical equipment, video monitoring equipment and computer analysis, communication and interpersonal skills which enhance quality patient care and education. Formal Education, License and Experience: The formal education normally associated with completely satisfactory performance in this job is a high school diploma or equivalent and graduate of a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program or equivalent formal training. Also required is registry or registry-eligible by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) in one of the following areas: EEG (Electroencephalography), EP (Evoked Potentials), or CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) or The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists in RPSGT (Polysomnography), with 1-2 years of related experience and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.
