Position Summary Purpose: To consistently perform high quality standard and complex polysomnographic (PSG) procedures with some EEG experience. Knowledge and Skills: Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is a knowledge of current neurodiagnostic technique and pattern recognition, and general neurodiagnostic instrumentation. Also required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is the ability to independently demonstrate skill in the following: PSG, and EEG/ EEG Video Monitoring, demonstrate ability to operate neurodiagnostic analog and digital medical equipment, video monitoring equipment and computer analysis, communication and interpersonal skills which enhance quality patient care and education. Formal Education, License and Experience: The formal education normally associated with completely satisfactory performance in this job is a high school diploma or equivalent and graduate of a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program or equivalent formal training. Also required is registry or registry-eligible by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) in one of the following areas: EEG (Electroencephalography), EP (Evoked Potentials), or CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) or The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists in RPSGT (Polysomnography), with 1-2 years of related experience and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.

Position Summary Overview: Serve as a lead technologist and supervisor of technical operations and training activities. Responsibilities: Oversee clinical, technical and research activities; ensure completion of inpatient studies, outpatient studies and research patient studies, including daytime studies, scoring records and maintaining a database. Assist with the operation of the clinical laboratory and direct related clerical activities; assure adequate laboratory coverage and serve as a technical resource for night shift polysomnography techs. Perform high quality PSG scoring, standard and complex PSG recordings, MSLT, EEGs and long-term video EEG monitoring. Responsible for assisting the medical director and leaders with training and protocol development to enhance competency levels of the clinical staff. Teach polysomnographic and neurodiagnostic procedures to junior personnel and supervise their recordings. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of current neurodiagnostic technique and pattern recognition and general neurodiagnostic instrumentation. Ability to independently demonstrate skills in PSG, scoring, EEG, long term-video EEG and MSLT. Demonstrated ability to operate neurodiagnostic analog and digital medical equipment, video monitoring equipment and computer analysis. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Education, Experience and Licensure: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited electroneurodiagnostic technology program or equivalent formal training. Bachelor degree preferred. Registry from BRPT and a minimum of five (5) years experience in PSG required. Registry or registry eligible within eighteen (18) months of employment by ABRET in EEG or by AARC (RRT) in respiratory care.
