Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require frequent independent judgment. Assumes responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required. Maintains a complete knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomic anomalies, and specific treatment options. Has a thorough knowledge of invasive diagnostic and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques. Demonstrates strong critical thinking and good judgment skills. Anticipates patient status changes related to procedural events and takes immediate, appropriate action in response. Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program or Cardiovascular Technologist program. One years of CV Invasive Training experience required. Current ACLS or PALS and BLS certification. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Electrophysiology experience preferred. Experience with 3D Mapping (Carto, Ensite systems) preferred. Under general supervision of the Professional Nursing Staff functions as a member of the Cardiac Cath team. Maintains a therapeutic environment for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. Operates physiologic monitoring recorder and other related cath lab equipment. Assists with patient and procedure preparation, and radiographic equipment positioning. Functions as a scrub assistant during cardiac catheterization. Responsible for QC of x-ray systems image quality and storage, operation of digital acquisition and monitoring radiation safety in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Shares on-call work schedule. Education: • Graduation from an approved school of Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent qualification.
