This position will provide clinical and scientific support and substantiation for Nestle Healthcare Nutrition products and platforms, ensuring adequate scientific rationale, and documentation for benefits and claims. Role will: - develop language for use in marketing, sales communications and medical education, in support of the Nestle Healthcare Nutrition business.- provide ongoing claim substantiation across the NHN portfolio of products to optimize impact of communications. Maintains comprehensive claim substantiation database for Healthcare Nutrition. - work with Regulatory and Manufacturing/QA in the development and evaluation of nutrient content target levels and label claims. - evaluate product release requests on out-of-spec products, addressing nutrient and contaminant analytical data and making recommendations regarding release in concert with Regulatory and Medical input.Within the innovation and renovation process, the position will:- evaluate proposed claims and define requirements for potential clinical trials- maximize opportunities for clinical trial success, to efficiently manage resources throughout clinical trial processes and effectively utilize data to meet business objectives. Position is integral to Healthcare I & R and claims development, working closely with Medical Affairs, with Marketing and global R&D innovation teams. Major Responsibilities:* Claim substantiation:- Ensures adequate scientific rationale, and documentation, for benefits and claims for products and communications- Translate scientific data to language supportive of product claims and benefits, defend against competitive threats & decrease risk of challenges - Maximize strength of claim language within boundaries of scientific support and legal and regulatory conventions- Develop and maintain library of claims substantiation in concert with Infant teams.* Clinical Development- Provide clinical/scientific support guidance to marketing projects and to Medical Affairs programs and communications, including platform projects, lectures, sales training support, competitive defense strategies and issues management.- Serve as conduit to Global Scientific Affairs for message alignment for existing and upcoming products.- Determine need for clinical trials for best business impact.- Develop clinical trials in support of product claims, feature and benefits within time and resource constraints.- Manage research support requests and internal decision-making and response processes. * Nutritional Compliance:- Provide scientific and clinical support for the product ingredients/nutrients. - Manage product disposition issues, including product release requests and formulation decisions, leveraging scientific & clinical rationales. - Develop and maintain policies for minimal/max release of nutrient outliers for manufacturing.- Manage extraordinary release requests.- Requests from the field, aligning with business priorities clinical.
