Position Summary Overview: Supervise staff in EEG, Sleep or EMU; promote program development; assist in daily operations related to the provision of NPY services; provide clinical direction to technologist, technicians and students; plan, evaluate, organize, design and implement diagnostic techniques and programs (patients ages 0 - adulthood). Responsibilities: Serve as front line supervisor for diagnostic procedures and services; coordinate staffing schedules and approve/deny time-off requests; supervise procedures and help staff improve productivity; ensure compliance with regulatory standards (JCAHO, AASM, ACNS and ASET); facilitate goal setting, initiate developmental plan, provide performance feedback and ongoing performance recognition and coaching; interview and make recommendations for candidate selection; provide leadership and participate in staff and student development; participate and assist in the completion of annual performance appraisals; work with manager to update NPY policies and procedures and keep current. Perform patient care and related activities; perform neurodiagnostic or polysomnographic testing; make minor equipment repairs and report major repair needs; re-stock bedside recording equipment and supplies; ensure equipment is in working condition following each patient test; provide instruction/education to patients and families/care givers. Provide clinical leadership and serve as an instructor/mentor; plan, coordinate and present monthly educational in-services to END staff; participate in the design and development of END new employee/volunteer orientation; offer ongoing feedback into orientation process; orient new staff; provide mentorship opportunities to less experienced staff. Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge and understanding of outpatient pediatric epilepsy monitoring procedures developmentally appropriate for children ages 0 - adulthood. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of time management, basic fiscal management, systems operations, personnel management, JCAHO standards and organizational culture. Must be articulate, courteous and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and health center personnel, patients and parents and have the ability to honor confidentiality; independently treat complex patients by developing and following an individualized plan of care. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; management skills as they relate to TCH; hospital and personnel growth and development; leadership skills and ability to set priorities. Ability to problem solve independently as exhibited by the ability to automatically analyze situations, evaluate priorities and initiate appropriate course of action. The ability to utilize basic office equipment such as fax, photocopier and PC. The ability to efficiently and effectively maneuver through word-processing and spreadsheet programs is mandatory. Education, License and Experience: Associate´s degree; registry in an END modality (R. EEGT, R.EPT, RPSGT, CNIM, CLTM,); clinical pediatric electroneurodiagnostic experience; CPR certification and a minimum of two (2) years of clinical pediatric experience, preferably in an outpatient setting, is required. Bachelor´s degree and two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
