Our client, an academic healthcare system based in New York City and recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of Americas Best Hospitals, seeks a Histology Supervisor for one of the largest and busiest Anatomic Pathology Laboratories in the region. This person will be responsible for efficient operation of the Histology laboratory and to provide direction and supervision to both the Lead and staff Histotechnologists by demonstrating a wide variety of administrative, personnel, technical and clerical activities.Appropriate candidates will have a B.S. degree in Medical Technology or a related science and HT/HTL (ASCP) certification are required. A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience is preferred and at least 6 years experience as a Histotechnologist is required.

Under the general technical supervision of the pathologist, the Histology Technician is responsible for processing and preparing slides from tissue and fluids, performing special stains and assisting the pathologist during gross and frozen sections.
