Women´s Health Practice, an independently owned Women´s Clinic, is looking to add a Physician Assistant to our staff. You would be working directly with Physicians and be given tremendous opportunities for learning and exposure to cutting edge treatments. Job duties would included but not be limited to the following:1) The diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health problems;2) Ordering laboratory and radiology tests, including hysterosalpingograms;3) Prescribing medication, including controlled substances, to the extent delegated;4) Performing other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated;5) Rounding on obstetrical, gynecological, post-operative, ante partum, and post-partum patients;6) Writing orders for obstetrical, gynecological, post-operative, ante partum, and post-partum patients; 7) Assessing obstetrical patients in labor and delivery;8) Rupturing membranes on obstetrical patients;9) Fetal monitoring of obstetrical patients, including placement of fetal monitor;10) Evaluating hospitalized study patients;11) Answering telephone calls on hospitalized patients;12) Computer skills and capability with electronic medical records; and13) Evaluating and managing preoperative and postoperative patients.14) Assisting surgical procedure(s), including Cesarean section.

SUMMARY: The Saint Agnes Physician Assistant II is a Certified and Registered individual who is delegated to perform medical acts in accordance with the Physician Assistants Delegation Agreement as approved by the Board of Physician Quality Assurance and as supervised and directed by the Physicians of the Saint Agnes Department of OB/GYN. As members of the health care team, the Physician Assistants provide a broad range of medical services in the evaluation and care of Saint Agnes surgical patients. Those services are provided as needed in the hospitals operating rooms, nursing units, emergency department and pre-admission testing suite. The essential functions of the Physician Assistant include clinical procedures and cognitive skills prescribed by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants. The Physician Assistant in the Department of Surgery at Saint Agnes must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served, demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the human life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients health status. She/he must interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to age, and provide needed care as described in the departments policies and procedures. Required Education: Successful completion of an NCCPA Accredited PA ProgramRequired License, Certification and/or Registration: NCCPA Certification, Maryland LicenseRequired Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as a Physician Assistant.

AMEP OB GYN Services Responsibilities 1. Orients to physician practice/patient population, including attending and participating in multidisciplinary rounds. 2. Develops collaborative practice agreement in conjunction with supervising physician. 3. Identifies and develops protocols and or guidelines necessary for practice in conjunction with supervising physician. 4. Participates in the orientation and education of staff and students. 5. Maintains clinical competencies by assuming responsibilities for acquiring knowledge and experiences to meet learning needs with guidance. 6. Participates in continuing medical education to include specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards and conferences. 7. Assists in the collection of data for research projects. Minimum Qualifications Two years of specialty experience relevant to position preferred. Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) from the State of Texas is required. Current certification in Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support is required. Applicant must complete a Medical Staff application and participate in the Medical Staff Credentialing Process as outlined through the SETON Medical Staff Bylaws. Secure a complete health history, including obstetric, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family health, and psychosocial; and record findings accurately and succinctly. Perform physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system, including breast examination, pelvic examination, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other types of more specialized procedures as may be indicated by medical policy. See 3.5 patient encounters per hour. After observation and approval, provide direct medical care to patients for all core services, including but not limited to prenatal, family planning, surgical abortion, medication abortion and colposcopy service.Participate in accomplishing customer-focused goals. Provide referrals and assure follow-up. Perform order and interpret diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by affiliate medical protocols. Consult with Regional Medical Director, Sr VP, Patient Services, and Director, Clinical Services to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines. Provide relevant health instruction to include family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance. Qualifications:Current NYS license as a PA. National certification preferred. Three to five years clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Ability to lead and motivate teams. Experienced supervisor with ability to work as a team. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse staff and clients. Ability and willingness to manage 3.5 patients per hour.
