I hope you can advise me on this. I've been losing a lot of hair, to the point that I need a hair covering or wig to go out of the house. My doctor has no explanation for it. Anyway, I will be looking for a job soon, and I am not sure whether to mention it (if they don't notice), or just ask about being able to wear a surgical cap, or not even wearing a wig to the interview. Sincerely, Wondering Dear Wondering: There are two things about interviews: one is that you're expected to "put on a good show" for the interviewer, and the other is that you're supposed to be as comfortable as possible, which will help you to put on a good show. So for the interview, go with whatever will make you look the most professional and feel most comfortable, whether that is a nice, stylish wig that suits you, or your own hair. (But don't wear a surgical cap!) If your hair loss is significant, and you choose to go wigless, you may find yourself asked questions suggestive of an interviewer wondering about your health status, such as your ability to perform certain job functions or about how much time you have had off work at your current job. You don't have to disclose anything about your hair situation, but if you choose the wigless option, explaining the hair loss would cut off any concerns they may have about your ability to perform the job due to your health.
