I am waiting to hear back from a potential employer who has had "internal delays." He told me that after completing all interviews he would like to hire me; however, he asked me to wait until he met with potential clients first. He gave me the timeline of when he would be meeting with them; however, it has been a week later (since those meetings) and still no word. I have been waiting to hear back from him about his decision for a month now (since the interview). I don't know how I should act in this situation without sounding needy, but while still getting answers. Sincerely, No Word Dear No Word: At this point, a follow-up call will not make you appear needy. You would have appeared needy if you had called before the meetings that he had advised you about were to have been completed, or if you had called immediately after they had finished. Since it's now a week beyond the projected timeline, you will not look needy if you call to ask for an update and to express your ongoing interest in the job. Good luck.
