When I first started my job, I offered to do a lot of small favors for my coworkers (getting coffee, running errands, etc.) in order to make a good impression. I've been here for five months now, and everyone just expects me to be "Errand Girl." I feel like I'm being taken advantage of, but don't know how to speak up without sounding rude. Sincerely, Not a Gofer! Dear Not: There's no non-rude way to do it. You've set yourself up to do the errands, and the only way you can bring an end to things is to declare that you aren't an errand girl, and won't be getting coffee or anything else any longer. ♦We're now having some of our other writers help out answering the "Dear Cindy" questions.
