Let's face it. Even the most
devoted pacifist has wanted to scream like a banshee
and/or slap someone upside the head at least once in
his or her life. But not only should one's hands be
kept to oneself, one's thoughts should be kept to oneself,
lest one find oneself facing disciplinary action and
inclusion in our collection of "License Losers."
• "On or about [Date],
Respondent provided care to MR, a young male resident
with Huntington's Disease. MR routinely engaged in
inappropriate touching of others. In response to
an observed incident of inappropriate touching, Respondent
forcefully poked MR with her fingers on MR's head,
shoulders and chest while asking him "How do you
like that?""
• "… Respondent
was working as a registered nurse at [Facility] …
On or about [Date], Respondent provided care to LB,
a combative resident. Respondent stated to LB, "Bite
me and you won't have any teeth left.""
• "The Department has received
allegations that on or about [Date], Respondent's
care and treatment for resident "MG" constituted
verbal abuse of a resident, in that a) Respondent
utilized inappropriate volume in addressing the resident;
b) Respondent told the resident that respondent and
other staff did not like the resident; and c) Respondent
threatened the resident with ripping the resident's
call light out of the wall and leaving the resident
stranded. Respondent was terminated [Facility] on
[Date], based on these allegations."
