Perusing the information published
by licensing bodies regarding members who have been
reprimanded, penalized, and/or had their licenses suspended/withdrawn
for unprofessional conduct proves, time and time again,
that it all comes out in the end.
• "Administered IM injection
to nurse aide without a physician's order. Allowed
a nurse aide to administer an enema and falsely documented
administration as given by a nurse." (A case of "if
you give this enema for me, I'll give you whatever
you want"?)
• "On or about [Date],
Respondent administered a rectal suppository to resident
MS against her will. Respondent did not have a physician's
order or other authority to administer the medication
against the patient's will, nor did a medical emergency
exist which required administration of the suppository."
• "Failed to practice safe
nursing care: inserted a foley catheter instead of
an NG tube …"
