One of the things that we learn
when reading stories of disciplinary actions is that
it's best to leave the prescribing to the professionals
who are licensed to do so.
• "Respondent received
a bottle containing 5 Lasix tablets from the family
of a resident for disposal. Respondent kept the medication
and took it to her home rather than disposing of
it. The medication was not used."
• "[Name took] two samples
of penicillin from supplies at her employer, [Facility],
without a prescription or other authorization. She
administered the penicillin to her husband, who had
been harassing her to bring him some medication for
a respiratory infection."
• "[Respondent] …
was permanently and voluntarily surrendered from
practicing nursing in [State], based on Respondent
being guilty of unprofessional conduct in that she
misappropriated insulin from a resident at her place
of employment."
