Maximize Your Online Recruitment Efforts

Unless you're trying to fill high-paying jobs in Hawaii, you will have to do some work in order to fill your vacancies! To help you get the most out of a job board, MedHunters has compiled some tips based on our experience with our clients.

Take advantage of the package you've purchased. Understand and use all the services offered in your package, including Hand Matching ServiceTM if offered.

Create a high-quality profile page. This is your chance to sell yourself to the job seeker. Show more than just the basics about the facility and links to other sites. Compare your profile page to those of other hospitals. What is unique about your community? Why do you like living there? Why might others like living there?

Make sure your job posts are complete and compelling. At the basic level, the job seeker needs to know about the requirements of the job and the qualifications needed to apply. For job-posting tips see A Job Post Makeover.

Be proactive. Make sure your account manager knows about your critical needs. Search the database and contact candidates directly – there is nothing more flattering than an email from an employer expressing interest.

Accept résumés from all sources. Many job seekers won't want to reenter their information in your applicant tracking system. Clients who refuse to take direct applicants get substantially fewer résumés.

When reviewing résumés, keep an open mind. A lot of recruiters throw away quality résumés because the job seeker lives too far away. They may be willing or want to relocate. Tell them: "Hey, you might not have considered coming to my city, but do I have an offer for you!"

Most importantly, call the applicant as soon as you receive their résumé, and keep calling until you get a person on the phone. If a job seeker does not hear from an employer within a few days of sending their résumé, they may assume that you are not interested or they may forget they applied, lose interest, or, worse, be hired by someone else.
