Allentown, Pennsylvania

Allentown is located in east central Pennsylvania, 62 miles (100 kilometers) northwest of Philadelphia. It is the county seat of Lehigh County, and home to 106,632 people. The city is situated at the base of the Lehigh Mountains, and adjacent to the Lehigh River, which offers Allentown residents great recreational opportunities such as boating, hiking, biking, and hunting.

Like most of Pennsylvania, Allentown is a place rich in history. A good place to start is at the Lehigh Valley Historical Society Museum, which offers exhibits spanning the region's first Native American settlements to the present day.
