Annapolis used to be the capital of the United States and still boasts a great deal of original architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries. Maryland Statehouse, built in 1772, is the oldest in the country, and Saint John's College, formerly King William's School, is America's third-oldest college.

The city's celebrated transit system will help you get around town in no time, and water taxis can transport you around the harbor with ease! Everyone in this city of 35,838 is in close proximity to a bus stop.

Residents have access to great seafood, both from Chesapeake Bay and from the Atlantic. And there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Or you can buy the catch of the day from the local fishmonger or even get out your rod and catch it yourself.
