Antioch, California, lies on the San Joaquin River in Contra Costa County in the San Francisco-Oakland metropolitan area. The city, formerly known as Smiths Landing, was incorporated in 1872, although settlement of the area can be traced back to the middle of the 19th century. Residents can relax under the Californian sun at the Contra Loma Regional Park, with its swim lagoon and beach. Also nearby is the Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve, where camping is available. Every June, Antioch hosts the Contra Costa County Fair, a four-day festival that includes live entertainment and amusement park rides. And throughout the year, the city's Antioch Rivertown Theater entertains residents with drama and musicals. And with San Francisco only 45 miles (72 kilometers) away, everything the Bay Area has to offer is also at your doorstep. See our 7 Jobs in Antioch, California Websites for this CityGovernment:
