Avenel, New Jersey

Avenel is located in historically-rich Woodbridge Township, the oldest original township in the state of New Jersey. The community is located in the Gateway region of New Jersey, near the coast. The region gets its welcoming name from nearby Ellis Island, which was the chief immigration station for the country between 1892 and 1954.

Middlesex County, in which Avenel is located, is full of cultural attractions and events. Close to home are a variety of arts venues like the PNC Arts Center, New Jersey State Theater, Papermill Playhouse, and Crossroads Theater. There are also many state parks in the region for exploring the diverse landscapes and seascapes of New Jersey. And of course, all the attractions of New York City are a 40-minute trip from home!
