Ever wonder what it's like to live in a legend? Built as a logging community, the New Brunswick village of Boiestown has become a living fable – made famous in songs and stories of maritime culture. Immortalized by the tune of the same name, Peter Emberly's grave can be found in Boiestown's Old Cemetery. Next to Emberly, lies W.R. McCloskey, the founder of W.R. McCloskey's General Store. One of the oldest of it's kind in New Brunswick, the store once stood near Duffy's Hotel, which is also remembered in song. Anthony's Boot, considered a symbol of the log driver, hangs in the Central New Brunswick's Woodsmen's Museum along with tools used during the community's founding days. The Museum boasts 15 acres (six hectares) of exhibits, including an early 18th-century-style steam-powered sawmill and a replica lumber camp. True to their maritime heritage, this village of approximately 500 residents is a friendly community. Veiled in legend and myth, Boiestown is a magical place to live … and it's only an hour's drive from Fredericton. See our 0 Jobs in Boiestown, New Brunswick Websites for this CityTourism:
