Coon Rapids, Minnesota, is a northern suburb of Minneapolis, set 12 miles (19 kilometers) north of the city in Anoka County. The city, which was incorporated in 1959, is set along the bank of the Mississippi River, and was named for a set of rapids that used to be on the river, prior to the placement of a dam in the early 20th century. Coon Rapids is a four season community, with January highs averaging 20F (-7C) and July highs averaging 82F (28C). To enjoy the outdoors, explore the city's 40+ neighborhood parks and more than 20 miles (32 kilometers) of trails, or the county's green spaces, which include seven regional parks, nine county parks, and one regional park reserve. There are also numerous golf courses in the area, including Coon Rapids' own Bunker Hills Golf Course, which in 1989 was expanded to 27 holes of championship golf. (Of course, speaking of bunkers, the younger set will love Bunker Beach Water Park!) See our 3 Jobs in Coon Rapids, Minnesota Websites for this CityGovernment:
