Coos Bay, Oregon

The city of Coos Bay is located on Oregon's Pacific coast, 107 miles (172 kilometers) southwest of Eugene. It is part of Coos County, and has a population of 15,374.

The city is situated on Coos Bay, and both the community and the bay were named after an Indian tribe. Water lovers and landlubbers alike will enjoy the wide variety of activities available. On sea, you can enjoy watersports and saltwater fishing, or join a whale-watching boat to see these majestic creatures up close. You're also just a short drive from Siuslaw National Forest and Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.

Looking for some greenery within the city limits? Head to Mingus Park, which has an arboretum, lake, oriental flower garden, and playgrounds. Another major attraction is the Coos Art Museum, which offers rotating exhibits, art classes, and historic photos and artifacts.
