Coudersport, Pennsylvania

Coudersport is a borough located in north central Pennsylvania, 135 miles (217 kilometers) east of Erie, 180 miles (290 kilometers) north of the state capital, Harrisburg, and 203 miles (327 kilometers) northeast of Pittsburgh.

Coudersport is located in Potter County, which is affectionately known as God's Country for its unspoiled wilderness areas. Not surprising, therefore, the borough is located a short distance from several state parks, including, to name a few: Cherry Springs, which is a 48-acre (19-hectare) state park that's surrounded by the 262,000-acre (106,028-hectare) Susquehannock State Forest and which is one of the best places on the eastern seaboard for stargazing; Denton Hill, which offers great skiing at Ski Denton; and Sinnemahoning and Sizerville, which are surrounded by Elk State Forest. Runners take note: one great way to experience the scenery is to take part in June's God's Country Marathon, which follows a route from Galeton to Coudersport.
