Delta, British Columbia

Comprised of four communities, the Corporation of Delta is located just 40 minutes south of downtown Vancouver, where the Fraser River empties into the Pacific Ocean. This quiet agricultural community has mild weather year-round, giving you plenty of opportunities for walking along the beach or hiking in the forest.

While Delta's collective population is 97,208, each community has its own unique personality: North Delta is the largest and most urban; Ladner is the oldest and has the most character; Tsawwassen, with its Centennial Beach, is home to many sandcastles; and the Tsawwassen First Nations reserve offers traditional cultural crafts.

Like four close friends, Delta's communities intermingle regularly. When Ladner's Pioneer May Days is over, you're sure to find everyone at Tsawwassen's Sun Festival. If they're not picking berries at the local farms, residents are probably participating in the Delta Triathlon or cheering at the Tour de Delta bicycle races. And, in the winter, you're sure to find some of Delta's residents ringing in the New Year at the annual Polar Bear Swim at Boundary Bay Regional Park.

In the warmer months, Burns Bog is a popular spot to explore. This protected natural resource is the largest undeveloped urban landmass in North America and is home to many unique plant and animal species. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Round-leaved Sundew – a plant that feeds on insects.

From Burns Bog to Boundary Bay, there's plenty to see and do in Delta. Warm weather, warmer neighbors, and all the excitement of this active community make it a wonderful place for occupation and recreation.
