Elko, Nevada

Elko is a city of 16,708, located in northeastern Nevada. The city is located 230 miles (370 kilometers) west of Salt Lake City and 290 miles (467 kilometers) northeast of Reno.

Get a feel for Elko and environs by exploring the area's history at places like the Northeastern Nevada Museum, by taking a tour of a nearby gold mine, by visiting the Tuscarora or Midas ghost towns, or by attending the annual National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, which is held at the Western Folklife Center.
