Englewood, Colorado

Although a southern suburb of Denver, Englewood, with a population of more than 31,727, is a city in its own right.

Englewood became the site of the largest shopping complex west of the Mississippi in 1968, when the futuristic Cinderella Shopping Center opened. Though the mall and city experienced a downturn in the 1980s, the city has bounced back with a solid job market and a base of 23,500 full-time jobs – a big number for such a small city. And the mall has made way for an exciting new development, CityCenter Englewood, which promises to remake the city's downtown area, and features scenic walking spaces, public facilities, such as a library, concert space, and an art museum, housing, and retail and office space. It is also served by a light-rail transit station that takes commuters to downtown Denver within 15 minutes.

Englewood has plenty of facilities to keep you fit and healthy. It has an extensive parks system, including Pirates Cove, a new water park. With a gigantic pool and a variety of water rides, it's the perfect place to take your kids.
