Englewood, New Jersey

The city of Englewood is located in northeastern New Jersey, just 15 miles (24 kilometers) north of Jersey City and 15 miles (24 kilometers) northwest of New York City. It is part of Bergen County, and is home to 26,203 residents.

Englewood is situated west of the Hudson River. The city was incorporated in 1899, and its name is believed to be a shortened version for the "English neighborhood." The city is a great place for families, and the local Recreation Department offers a variety of fitness and recreational classes, along with daytrips to cultural events and area attractions for both children and adults. The Bergen Performing Arts Center offers diverse performances throughout the year, including family entertainment, plays, ballet, and a variety of musical performances ranging from symphonies to jazz and blues. Englewood has even produced some famous actors, including Ed Harris and John Travolta.
