Estevan, Saskatchewan

Estevan is a city of 10,242 set in southeastern Saskatchewan. It is located slightly north of the Canada/US border, 200 kilometers (124 miles) southeast of Regina and 190 kilometers (118 miles) northwest of Minot, North Dakota.

Estevan is nicknamed "The Energy City," since coal mining, power generation, and oil and gas are major industries. Guided Energy Tours offer a fascinating look at some local mines and power plants, and attract visitors from both sides of the border. You can also opt for a guided historic walking tour, where a costumed guide will lead you through the city and share stories from Estevan's past.

A visit to the Souris Valley Museum will round out your knowledge of local history.
