Ewa Beach, Hawaii

"Ewa" means "west" in the Hawaiian language, and West Beach is a perfect identifier for the location. Ewa Beach is part of the Honolulu metropolitan area, but it's on the west side of Pearl Harbor, on Mamala Bay.

Ewa Beach is ideally located if you want to work in Honolulu, but live your life away from it. While geographical close to the downtown core, to actually get there, you have to drive around the perimeter of Pearl Harbor (which is about 22 miles, or 35 kilometers). However, you have the unique perspective of being able see the city lights at night from the beach, but see just as many stars in the sky.
