If you are an admirer of all things antique, Germantown is the right spot for you! The Dheinsville Historic Park hosts several historic buildings, including the Sila Lydia Bast Bell Museum, where you will find Wisconsin's biggest publicly displayed bell collection and a 1929 Seagrave fire engine! The Old Courthouse Square Museum contains not only local artifacts for viewing, but also allows visitors to experience an 1886 jailhouse (complete with prison cells and the home of the county sheriff). And that's not all: Car lovers will have a blast at the Wisconsin Automotive Museum in nearby Hartford, which features a number of classic vehicles stemming all the way from the beginning of the 20th century!

If you're more interested in art, check out the West Bend Art Museum, located about 16 miles (27 kilometers) from town, and which houses a large collection of 19th-century paintings.

Germantown is full of scenic parks like the Homestead Hollow County Park, which offers hiking, snowmobile, and cross-country ski trails, downhill ski hills, a fishing pond, and sports fields. Also, the Schoen Laufen Park has beautiful nature trails and picnic areas close to the Menomonee River.

If you're one for fun, Germantown is certainly a great move. Head to Sunburst Ski and Recreation Area, only a half hour drive away in Kewaskum, for some skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Zimmermann's Kettle Hills 36-hole golf course is sure to fill the golf enthusiast with bliss! Moreover, each year, the whole community can have a blast at the Washington County Fair!

In Germantown, you're also only 34 miles (37 kilometers) northwest of downtown Milwaukee.
