Greenville, Alabama

The city of Greenville is located in south central Alabama, 45 miles (72 kilometers) southwest of the state capital of Montgomery. It is the seat of Butler County, and is home to 7,228 people.

Greenville's downtown offers a great mix of shops and restaurants, along with several historic attractions. Notable heritage sites include an old train depot and railroad bridge, the Butler County Courthouse, the Post Office, and City Hall. The 1930s Ritz Theatre is a great example of art deco architecture, and offers plays, musical performances, and film screenings. Confederate Park covers a full block, and contains a life-sized statue of a Confederate soldier and a beautiful fountain. Greenville is nicknamed "The Camellia City," and you'll find many of these fragrant flowers in the city's beautiful residential areas.

Cambrian Ridge is part of the famous Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, and one of the city's best attractions. Here you can tee off on four spectacular courses, and enjoy stunning views of Sherling Lake and the surrounding forests. Sherling Lake is also a great place for fishing, nature hikes, picnics, and camping.
