Hoboken, New Jersey, is located on the west bank of the Hudson River, across from New York City, and four miles (six kilometers) northeast of Jersey City and eight miles (13 kilometers) east of Newark. It has a population of 38,577, and is part of Hudson County.

The Hoboken Historical Museum preserves the city's rich history, and also provides a venue for many community events. Art exhibits, tours of historic districts, musical performances, talks, and children's programs are just some of the activities you'll find at the museum.

The Pregones Theater kicks off each season with a Summer Stage production, followed by theater, music, and dance performances during the other seasons. Theater buffs can also enjoy plays by the Hudson Shakespeare Company, the Hudson Theatre Ensemble, and Mile Square Theatre. Movies under the Stars offer free family entertainment during summer evenings, and the Hoboken International Film Festival showcases the best emerging talents.
