Kansas City is divided by a state line and the Missouri River; therefore, half the city is in the state of Kansas and half is located in Missouri. And many residents live in one state and work in the other. Fondly known as Cow Town, while visiting, I was once told that there are more cows here than people (the combined human population is around 1,836,038), which may explain why steak-loving locals also claim it is the barbecue capital of the world. The city is also said to have more fountains than any city except Rome and more boulevards than any city except Paris. Sports fans will have a great time in this city. There are the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Wizards to keep you cheering in the stands. For arts afficionados, there is the Kansas City Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, the Kansas City Ballet, and an array of galleries and museums. Kansas City is also home to an active jazz scene – many of great jazz musicians got their start here. If you want a great mixture of city and country, then Kansas City is a great place to settle.
