Kindersley, Saskatchewan

Kindersley is a town of 4,548 set in southwestern Saskatchewan. It is 200 kilometers (124 miles) southwest of Saskatoon, 217 kilometers (135 miles) northwest of Swift Current, and 391 kilometers (243 miles) northwest of Regina.

The Kindersley and District Plains Museum houses items related to World War I and II, early medicine, and life at the turn-of-the-century, along with unique items like furniture fashioned out of elk and moose antlers. Nearby historic attractions include the 1910 Addison Sod House, and the 1,500-year-old stone carvings at Herschel Petroglyphs site.

The Kindersley area offers many sports and recreational facilities, including aquatics, baseball, tennis, soccer, and bowling. More than 20,000 rounds of golf are played on the Kindersley Regional Park and Golf Course each year. During the winter, enjoy snowmobiling along local trails or skiing and snowboarding at the nearby Twin Towers Ski Resort. The surrounding lands offer a rich variety of wildlife, making Kindersley an excellent fishing and hunting destination.

The West Central Events Center has two ice arenas and a curling rink, and hosts sports games, concerts, trade shows, rodeos, and many other events. The Norman Ritchie Community Centre is another cultural hub, and hosts performing and visual arts events sponsored by the Kindersley and District Arts Council.
