Certified as a National Historic Place, the old downtown features more than 90 unique historical buildings with architectural styles ranging from the Victorian to the Art Deco, countless galleries, museums, eateries, and boutiques all along the flowing Mississippi.

For those who love classical music, the city is home to the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. And when you want to head to larger centers, La Crosse is about 150 miles (241 kilometers) southeast of Minneapolis-St. Paul and 211 miles (340 kilometers) northwest of Milwaukee.
