Originally know as Innes Corners, after brothers William and Adam Innes (and later Langley Prairie), the City of Langley wasn't incorporated until 1955. Located in the Fraser Valley, 44 kilometers (27 miles) southeast of Vancouver, this city, with a population of 23,643, is now part of the Greater Vancouver Regional District. Because Langley is set in the countryside (though this city offers you all the amenities you need), shopping, nightlife, and the arts are best found in downtown Vancouver. If you're looking for fresh produce, however, you're in the right place: Langley has more farms than any other municipality in BC and has the most varied agricultural production in Canada. That means the city has excellent farmers' markets and plenty of "pick-your-own" farms. Langley's other positives include its mild climate, its proximity to Vancouver, Whistler, and the US border (which is only a 15-minute drive away) for weekend getaways, and its small, welcoming community. If you love the countryside – but want to have easy access to the city – Langley could be for you. See our 10 Jobs in Langley, British Columbia Websites for this CityGovernment:
