Lansing, Michigan

Lansing is the state capital of Michigan, and the county seat of Ingham County. It is located in central Michigan, 91 miles (146 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. The city's population is 119,128.

The magnificent Michigan State Capitol is a great place to start your tour of the city. Designed by Elijah E. Myers, the building was completed in 1879, and is a designated National Historic Landmark. Lansing is also home to a large number of museums, including the Michigan State University Museum of natural history and culture, the Michigan Historical Center, and the Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame. You can also explore different aspects of the region's history by visiting the All Around the Africa World Museum, the Museum of Surveying, the Telephone Pioneer Museum, and the R.E.
