Maplewood, Minnesota

Maplewood, Minnesota, is located only six miles (10 kilometers) east of downtown St. Paul, in Ramsey County. The community, which was incorporated in 1957, is a mix of residential neighborhoods and commercial developments.

Maplewood's Parks & Recreation Department has 33 neighborhood parks, as well as a 14 neighborhood nature preserves ranging in size from five acres (two hectares) to 46 acres (19 hectares), as well as a nature center with 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) of trails.

And when you want to shop, Maplewood is also home to one of my Twin Cities favorites, the Maplewood Mall, which in addition to four anchor stores, has more than 130 specialty stores.
