The village of Menomonee Falls is located in southeastern Wisconsin, 15 miles (24 kilometers) northwest of Milwaukee. It is part of Waukesha County, and home to 32,647 people. The name "Menomonee Falls" comes from the Native term for "wild rice." The village is situated on the Menomonee River, and near the western shore of Lake Michigan. The Kohl's Corporation has its headquarters in Menomonee Falls, and employs about 1,500 people. Menomonee Falls is also home to the charming Old Falls Village. Located within a beautiful park, this living history museum features a number of historic buildings such as a railroad depot, log home, school house, and dairy, each containing artifacts from the past century.
