Princeton, New Jersey

The borough of Princeton lies on the banks of the Millstone River in Mercer County, in the Trenton metropolitan area. It was named after Prince Wilhelm III of Orange and Nassau, its roots date back to the 17th century.

The borough was site of a major battle during the American Revolutionary War, but today it is more known as a center for learning and the arts. It was once the residence of Albert Einstein, and is home to the prestigious Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton University, and the world-famous Westminster Choir College of Rider University.

And Princeton University, an Ivy League college, is the center of the borough's cultural life. Princeton's art museum is one of the best university art museums in America, and Princeton University Concerts provide borough residents with a season of music.

Princeton is also home to Drumthwacket, the official residence of the Governor of New Jersey. Drumthwacket is just one of the many historic buildings that help to provide the borough with its charm. Others landmarks include the Bainbridge House, home to the Historical Society of Princeton, and the Morven Museum & Garden (the former residence of the governor).

Outdoor fun is readily available in and around Princeton. Nearby Woodfield Reservation, Herrontown Woods Arboretum, and Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve are perfect places for a hike. And two state parks, Princeton Battlefield State Park and Rancocas State Park, are just a short drive away.
