Wherever you live in Quebec, you will share one thing
in common with other residents of the province: an
infatuation with the game of hockey and proximity to
the outdoors. It is hardly surprising that a region
with 4 seasons as distinct as those of Quebec has a
plethora to offer the athletically inclined. The province
boasts more than 65 ski resorts, 3,000 kilometers (1864
miles) of cycling trails, and a multitude of parks
and waterways.
Quebec's beautiful geography provides a backdrop to
many of these activities: in the south, the St. Lawrence
River winds itself through many small towns and cities.
Further north, mountains, forests, and lakes rise out
of the landscape, providing ample opportunity for skiers,
hikers and rafters. And in the far north, home to Canada's
Inuit
and Cree, the vast wilderness still beckons the more
adventurously inclined.
