Rutherfordton, North Carolina, is a town located in the southwestern part of the state. It is six miles (10 kilometers) west of Forest City and 73 miles (117 kilometers) west of Charlotte. Rutherfordton is the county seat of Rutherford County, and home to 4,131 people.
